Overall, there are ten stages in the process, beginning with the growth of cacao tree and ripe red pods, and finishing when the liquid chocolate is made. Despite the help of modern machinery and tools, the making of chocolate remains a lengthy and complex process.
To begin, the cacao tree used to make chocolate is grown in S.A. When the pods are ripe and red, they are then harvested with white cocoa beans.
Afterwards, The beans are fermented under the leaves and once finished, they are spread in sun to dry. The beans are then divided into different large sacks and ready for delivery. They can transport the beans by train or lorry. The beans are taken to factory to continue the process.
In the final stage, the beans are roasted in high heat at about 350c. The beans are crushed and their outer shell gets removed completely. Eventually, the crushed beans are pressed hard until liquid chocolate is produced. This process is done through the use of the inner part machine.
