The given graph illustrates the global water use in different sectors( agriculture, industrial and domestic) between 1900 and 2000 and the table shows the consumption of water in Brazil and Congo in the year 2002.
Overall, water use in all these three sectors experienced steady growth while, agriculture had the constantly higher position over the period given. However, Brazil showed a greater consumption of water and least was that by Congo.
In 1900, water used in agriculture was about 500km, being highest portion of the graph. It had a steady but continuous growth until 1950( about 1000km) and then it rose dramatically throughout the period, hitting the high point of approximately 3000km in 2000. Whereas, water for industrial and domestic use was almost same point, around 100km at the beginning of the period. For industry, it remained constant till 1949 and for domestic it stayed stable till 1960. After that, both of them had a gradual increase, reaching to almost 1100km and 400km respectively at the end of the period.
The population of Brazil was at 176 million and the land was 26,500 km, which accounted for 359m consumption of water per person. In contrast, Congo had the very little population, with 5.2million and thus small land(100m). They used small proportion of water(8m).
