The given graph illustrates the fish and meat (chicken, beef,lamb and fish) consumption in one European country from 1979 to 2004.
Overall, chicken experienced upward trend and beef and lamb showed downward trend over the period given. While, fish remained almost constant all year around.
In 1979, people consumed around 220 grams beef per person per week, being highest portion of the chart. At first it dropped to 175 grams and then increased to peak at approximately 245 grams. After that, it continued to fall in the following periods and finally reached to just above 100 grams per person per week. Lamb had the same trend that started from 150 grams per person per week and reduced significantly throughout the year, hitting low point of about 60 grams per person per week.
However, Consumption of chicken was below 150 grams per person per week at the beginning of the period and then it showed a dramatic growth over the period, reaching to nearly 250 grams in 2004. Whereas, fish was the lowest portion of the graph that people consumed only about 55 grams per person per week in 1979. Initially, it witnessed slight decline to below 50 grams and remained about same throughout the year.
