The graph below shows the average number of Vietnamese students studying in France, Russia and America between 2000 and 2015.

The line graph represents the Vietnamese student population of three countries from 2000 to 2015.

Overall, it is evident that while France hosted the most Vietnamese students in the first half of the period, it was overtaken by America in the second half. Meanwhile, Russia was the only country to experience a downward trend in its figures.

Looking at the line graph more closely, one can see that in 2000, America had the fewest Vietnamese students, at only 1.5 million, whereas France had the most, at 3.5 million students. However, the next 15 years witnessed a threefold rise in the number of Vietnamese students in the US to 5 million, surpassing France as the most popular country in 2007. The figures for France dipped to 2.5 million students in 2005, stabilizing at that mark until 2010, when it shot up to 4.5 million students.

As for Russia, it was the second-most popular destination for Vietnamese students in 2000, housing 3 million students. In the following decade, the number of Vietnamese students nearly halved to just 1.8 million. Growth was seen in the last five years of the period, with Russia's figures reaching 2.5 million students in 2015.
