The line graph illustrates the yearly numbers of tourists vacationing on either cruise ships or island on a Caribbean island between 2010 and 2017. Overall, while the sum of visitors on the Caribbean island increased significantly throughout this period, there were downward trends in the numbers of visitors staying on cruise ships and island in the 2011-2012 and 2015-2016 periods respectively.
It is noticeable that after remaining constant at around 0.75 million visitors in 2011, the figure for vacationers on island grew considerably by nearly 0.75 million people and reached a peak at 1.5 million vacationers from 2013 to 2015. Nevertheless, the number of guests staying on island in 2016 was approximately 0.25 million as small as that in 2015. By contrast, this number increased after 2016 and shared the same figure with that in 2015.
Regarding tourists staying on cruise ships, there was a slight rise in that number after 2010, which accounted for 0.5 million visitors in 2011. Afterward, 0.5 million visitors staying on cruise ships dropped in 2012. The number of tourists who vacationed on cruise ships in 2017, just over 2 million people, was around 4 times as large as that in 2012, 0.5 million people.
