The line graph presented here represents the population growth of three counties in the state of Oregon, U.S between 1940 and 2000.

Overall, huge population growth can be seen in Washington county followed by steady pace increase of population in Yamhill and Columbia. The population boom in all the counties have started around 1970's with Washington having much higher growth rate than Yamhill and Columbia.

Washington being one of the largest counties of Oregon had a population of around 75 thousand in 1940s. In the next 30 year,i.e 1970s, the population only increased by 55 thousand and reached around 120 thousand only. With the advent of tech companies and growth in various fields of science a prominent growth has been observed in Washington with population reaching 240 thousand in 2000s and adding more than 120 thousand for this 30 year gap.

Yamhill and Columbia counties had a modest 30 thousand population at the start of 1940s. Both of these counties had a slow paced growth for the next 30 years and had reached a population of 45 thousand and around 40 thousand. For the next 30 years the population of Yamhill had significantly surpassed that of Columbia reaching 90 thousand as compared to only 75 thousand for Columbian County.
