The graph below shows the production levels of main fuels in a European country from 1981 to 2000.

The line graph compares the amount of three main fuels produced (petroleum, coal, natural gas) in a European country between 1981 and 2000.
Overall, petroleum was the majority produced type of fuel, while natural gas production was lowest during the periods shown.
In 1981, nearly 100 tonnes of petroleum were produced. It increased steadily and reached 130 tonnes in 1983. This figure remained unchanged in the following 4 years. From 1987 to 1989, the amount of petroleum produced was decreased back to just under 100 tonnes. In 1995, petroleum manufactured was rose again and reached a peak at 132 tonnes.
Turning to coal and natural gas, we can see that coal was the second most-produced fuel in 1981. Coal remained stable until it dropped dramatically down to about 50 tonnes. It climbed back up to just over 70 tonnes in 1987 before slowly declining over the next 13 years to just under 40 tonnes. The production of natural gas remained unchanged at around 40 tonnes until 1994 when it began to rise. This figure increased double to 80 tonnes in 2000 and overtook coal as the second most manufactured fuel.
