The graph below shows US consumers average annual expenditures on cell phone and residential phone services between 2001 and 2010

The line chart illustrates the consumption of two different phone services each year in the United States over a period of 10 years.
At the start of the period, the amount of money that residents who use housing phone services paid highest at about $700 in 2001. By contrast, the figures for cell phone services were lowest at just around $200. There was a dramatic change when consumer expenditure on mobile phone services tend to increased considerably by nearly $350 from 2001 to 2006. Meanwhile, the consumption of residential phone services decreased slowly to approximately $150 between 2001 and 2006. In the following years, by 2010, expending for mobile phone services had reached $750, while the figure for paying for household phone services had fallen to around $400.
Overall, it is clear that the chart shows the opposite trend between cell phone and residential phone services during a surveyed period. While users spending more and more on mobile phones, landline almost less popular.
