There was nearly no teenagers who only ate vegetarian food in 1960. The rate of vegetarian teenage people rose steadily, until 1980, when it peaked at 16 percent. After falling for a decade, it went up slightly to 8 percent in 1992, followed by a moderate fluctuation. It reached 5 percent finally in 2000.
After 2000, a modest rise is predicted in the first decade. Then the rate is projected to remain the same at 10 percent from 2010 to 2020.
