The given diagram demonstrates the process of producing chocolate. Generally, the whole process can be divided into ten stages, beginning with growing cacao trees and ending at the production of liquid chocolate.
It is noticeable that cacao trees are mainly cultivated in two continents, namely South America and Africa as well as the country of Indonesia. When the pods of these trees have been ripe, which can be recognised by its turning red, they are harvested. Then, white cocoa beans, which are extracted from the pods, are fermented. After that, these beans are dried under sunlight before being packed in large sacks. Having been transported to the factory by either train or lorry, the beans are roasted at the temperature of 350 °C. The next step is crushing the beans in order to separate their inner parts from the outer shells. Finally, the inner parts are pressed and a mixture known as liquid chocolate is produced.
