On the whole, the population of these city has grown a lot of since 1970. The number of residents in Malaysia and Indonesia has risen the most, while the number in the Philippines and Thailand has climbed too.
In Malaysia, the number of residents rose from 30% in 1970 to 45% in 1990. Since then, the population has grown steadily from 45% in 1990 to 83% in 2040. Similarly, Indonesia's population also increased from 12% in 1970 to more than 60% in 2040.
In addition, the Philippines population has gone up from 31% in 1970 to under 50% in 1990. However, the numbers have changed since there was a slight fall in 1990 to 2010 then it increased again to 2040. Finally, the number of residents in Thailand has steadily increased from 1970 to 2040.
