Overall, as can be seen from the line graph, the number of travelers visiting to the UK and abroad increased significantly. Meanwhile, France was the most popular destination for Britain visitors, the opposite was true for Turkey.
According to the line graph, in 1979, the number of UK visitors going abroad was about 12 millions, which was a bit higher than the figure for overseas residents going to UK with 10 millions. By the next 20 years, these figures increased to over 50 millions and nearly 30 millions of people visiting abroad and visiting to the UK respectively.
In 1999, France was the most attractive country for UK travelers with over 10 millions, followed by 9 millions of Spain. The amount of residents travelling to Greece was 3 millions, comparison to approximately 4 millions. The least common for Britain visitors was Turkey with only 2 millions.
