The two maps represent the changes that have been taken place in the village of Stokeford in 1930 and in 2010 respectively.
In 1930’s map, there was a river named River Stoke. A farmland was located at the right hand side of the river. However, it had been removed and replaced by housing areas. One of the buildings that remained unchanged from 1930 to 2010 was post office. There were shops situated next to the post office. It is noticeable that these shops were removed as the place was used to construct a road and more houses were built in which these changes were shown in the map of 2010.
Another feature that had been changed was the Gardens which was located at the centre of the map in 1930. There was a tree in the Gardens before the houses were built to replace it. Besides, the Large house was located inside the Gardens in 1930 was a Retirement home in 2010. The other farmland was located at the top right hand corner of the map in 1930 had also been removed. The other building was the Primary school which was just situated opposite the post office. There was no change on this building but two houses were built next to the Primary school which can be seen on the 2010’s map.
To sum up, the constructions that remained unchanged were the River Stoke, the Bridge, the Post Office, and the Primary school. Other constructions had changed in which most of the changes were done to build more houses as can be seen on the 2010’s map.
