It can clearly be seen that there are two main stages of how a hot balloon works. At the first stage, air with mix propane is pumped into the basket and at the last stage, hot air is escaped through a parachute valve.
As soon as two propane cylinders are put into the basket of a hot balloon in order to supply fuel, the burner is turned on to burn the mixture of propane and air. Next, the flame created from the burner is blown to the big envelope which has several special features which helps flame to exchange. This envelope includes a lot of gores made of many panels and has a parachute valve at the top and a skirt at the bottom which is connected to the basket by ropes.
After being burned, the cool air at the bottom of the envelope is heated and buoyant to the parachute valve, a self-sealing flap, where allows hot air to escape at a controlled rate. In contrast, the cool air at the top of the envelope drift down to the skirt. This thermal convection process creates lighter gas than air so that the hot balloon can fly.
