Pie chart: education levels
The pie charts compare the maximum level at school achieved by women in someland in 1945 and in 1995.
Generally, it can be clearly seen that women received a much higher level of education in someland in 1995 than they did in 1945 because on the latter the top level for over three quarters of women was not beyond the Year 6. In contrast to the 1% of women who accomplish Fist Degree in 1945, the majority of women in 1955, amounting to 70%, had got a first degree or a Post Graduate.
In terms of the education in 1945, there were the same proportion of no schooling women and women who completed just the 3rd year (35% in each). The total number of women who completed the 12th year was much greater than the ones who went on with a first degree, with 64% and 1%, respectively. Turning to 1995, the situation changed radically due to the fact that all women completed at least the 9th year of school, 10% just finished the 9th year and 30% finished the 12th year. Half of the women had graduated from an initial degree and 20% had gone on to postgraduate studies.
Overall, we can see that there have been huge development in the education levels completed by women in someland over the 50 years
