The pie charts provided compare the proportion of online purchases made in retail sector in New Zealand in two different years: 2003 and 2013.

Overall, what stands out from the graph is that there were significant changes. Sales for movies and music, which had the third largest share in the first year took the leading position in 2013.

A third of the money spent on the internet purchases was for travelling in 2003. In contrast, a decade later 29% was reported in this sector. The share of online sales for music and movies, however, seem to have raised by a remarkable 12% by 2013 and ranked first with 33% in this year.

Sales for clothes though the internet comprised of 24% if the total e-expenditure in 2003. After 10 years period it amounted to the least percentage of 16%. Taking the least position in 2003 with 19%, sales of books in the internet saw a mere 3% increase in the final year.
