Some people believe that it is good to share as much information as possible in scientific research, business and the academic world. Others believe that some information is too important or too valuable to be shared freely.
Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.
Information is becoming increasingly significant in many fields, so that some people reckon that information should be shared as much as possible. However, others may argue that some valuable information is not supposed to be shared without any condition. In my point of view, most information can be commonly shared while it is inappropriate to share some business secrets.
Information sharing can boost the development of scientific research, business and academics. This means that everyone can benefit from open information which may be useful for some us. For example, the discovery of a new material, which is light weighted and strong, may lead to a great progress in space technology. Besides, the process of sharing enhances the ties between researchers or organizations, improving their collaboration.
Admittedly, the passion for discovery may fade away since sharing would undermine a group of researchers or enterprises. A new research result usually requires long-term efforts, which are time consuming and expensive. As a result, if a medical company shared their cutting-edge medicine formula, they would be less competitive and even suffer destructive financial crisis.
In my opinion, business secrets should be reserved and other information can be shared openly. Because useful information is able to accelerate industrial, business, and academic progress whereas the reservation of some core information can keep the researchers of business organizations active and competitive.
In conclusion, most information should be accessible to the public, promoting the development in different fields. At the same time, some crucial technologies should be share on certain condition to maintain the passion and activeness of pioneers.
