The pie charts compare the percentage of local research student and international research student in gender in australian universities in the year 2001 and 2010.

Overall, the total number of student in australian universities increased from 2001 to 2010. In addition, the percentage of local student were by far higher than that of international student in both 2 years.

From 2001 to 2010, there was a growth of nearly 10000 abroad students. Only 13% of international student in 2001 in which the proportion of male student over doubled those for female student, 9% compared to 4%. The figure for abroad research student increased to 27% in 2010 with 12% of male student and 15% of female student

local research student accounted for 87% in total student in Austalian universities in 2001 then it dropped to 73% in 2010. female and male local student held the same proportion, at 43% in 2001. these figures decreased significantly, 35% of female local student compared to 39% of male local student.
