The table compares the percentage of money that inhabitants in five countries spent on different items in 2002.
Overall, expenditure on Food/Drinks/Tobacco was by far higher than others, while leisure/Education was spent the least in 2002.
As can be seen from the table, 32.14% of the total budget in Turkey was spent on Food/Drinks/Tobacco, whereas that of Ireland was slightly lower, at 28.91%, and the figures for other surveyed countries were between 15% and 19%. It is clear that Clothing/Footwear was spent the most by the Italian, at 9%, compared to the smallest proportion was seen in Sweden (5.40%), expenditure on these items in Ireland, Spain, and Turkey was relatively approximate, with 6.43%, 6.51%, and 6.63%, respectively.
Turning to leisure/education, spending on this category in all surveyed nations was significantly low. The highest percentage was 4.35% in Turkey and Spain experienced the lowest proportion, at a mere 1.98%, while the other figures were from 2% to 3.5%.
