The mentioned table illustrates the rate of various kinds of families living in poverty in Australia in the year 1999.

Overall, the highest proportion is seen in the sole parent type of family whereas the least portion is seen with the aged coupled types of family.

As it can be seen from the table that the sole parent accounted for 21% which is 232000 in amount. Likewise, the rate of single with no children type of family has a figure of 19%(359000) which is the second highest proportion of people living in poverty. In addition to this, couple with children type of family has a rate of 12% with 933000.

However, single aged person, aged couple and couple with no children accounted less the 10% which are 6%, 4% and 7% respectively. Among these family type aged couple has a less rate of people living in poverty with 48000.
