The graph and table illustrate obviously the amount of water used worldwide and water consumption in two different countries.
It is clear from the graph that the water that spent for Agriculture is high compared with Industrial and Domestic use and the demand of using water in all of them had an upward trend over the time of the survey. From the table, we can see Brazil using water per person outweighed Congo.
Over a period of 100 years, the water for agriculture always occupied highest position, increased dramatically from 500 km3 in 1900 to about 3000 km3 in 2000. The tendency of Industrial use and Domestic use from 1900 to 1950 was quite parallel and approximately 100 km3 and 80 km3, respectively. From 1950 onwards, the statistic for Industrial witnessed a significant rise to over 1000 km3 in 2000 while there was about 200 km3 increased in the number of Domestic waters.
With 176 million people and 26 500 km2 of the irrigated lands, a person living in Brazil consumed an average of 359 m3. Meanwhile, in the Congo, even though the population was less, but there was only 100km2 in the area of irrigated land and the water consumption per person was 8 m3.
