Dear Sam,
I hope you are doing good. I just received your letter and felt delighted after seeing the job offer to work with you in your esteemed company. At the same time, I’m sorry to say that I cannot support you any time before the next three months because of the strict notice period I have to serve in the current company.
Recently, I came across an article about Infinite company where I found that you have been successful in expanding to five more countries in the last financial year thereby increasing your employees count as well. Infinite has always been my dream company and you know how much I have troubled you to refer me there.
Though I’m happy about the offer, I’m feeling guilty that I’ll not be joining your company immediately. Presently, I’m the Lead for my team and responsible for one revenue making project which my team is working on and it has the deadline in three months. So, I’m already working on weekends and sometimes work even after reaching home to complete this project. Because of this, I can’t even negotiate to my HR team for the reduction of the notice period.
Therefore, as a friend, I’m sure you will understand my situation and I promise you I’ll join your company after three months which is on January 2, 2020.
