Essay topics:

A local college is having an international day. You want to speak to students about your country from different cultures. Write a letter to the college head.

In the letter, you should:
tell him/her about the topics you are going to talk about
why would they be of interest to the students
ask for any arrangements that you need.

Dear Sir,

I am writing to you regarding “The international day” which is going to be held on 1st May 2019. I have come to know that a speech competition will be organized on this special day. However, each candidate must go through a screening test prior to the final competition. I have keen interest in this event and I want to represent my county. As my country, India, is known for its diversity, therefore I want to discuss about the unity in diversity of my country.

India has not only diverse climate but also more than 1600 dialects. I am quite sure that students will be surprise to know our unity in such a diverse culture. Moreover, an astonishing fact is that after every 100 KMs, our culture in terms of cuisine, attire and language changes.

I need few supports from organizing committee that a large size poster of India and few drawing pins will be required, as I want to make my presentation little bit interesting by conducting a small quiz at the end.

Looking forward to hearing from you about my final selection as soon as possible because I need time to prepare my topic. Thanks in anticipation.

Yours faithfully,
Bibhu Kalita.
