The pie charts below show the spending of a school in the UK from 1981 to 2001.

The pie charts compare the percentage of spending annually on five categories in one of the schools in the UK in three different periods, 1981,1991, and 2001.

Overall, teachers' salaries comprised the biggest allocation of schools budget in the years given, while the smallest expenditure could be seen on insurance.

In 1981, the school allocated the highest allocation of budget on teachers salaries at 40%, after which the spending rose to a half in 1991 and dropped slightly to 45% in 2001. The expenditure on furniture and equipment decreased from 1981 to 1991 by 10% to 5%, then climbed to less than a quarter in the final year. With regard to money spent on resources, the figure went down significantly from 15% to 9 % between 1981 and 2001.

The school spent a mere percentage of money for insurance in from 1981to 1991but the spending grew to 8% in 2001. In 1981, 28% of the schools' budget was used for other workers salaries and decreased to just a fifth in 1991 and 2001.
