Be it the ancient era or the modern society, shopping is undoubtedly an activity that brings smile on faces of many. However, it is evident that the majority of the customers are opting to shop from shopping malls instead of heading to the local markets. In this essay, I will be discussing about why I think it is a positive development for the society.
To begin with, shopping malls offer a wide range of options to choose from whereas the local retailers have limited collection of merchandise. Also, large shopping centres offer other entertainment facilities such as multiplex theatres, food courts, international restaurants. If one has to visit local shops for shopping, it merely becomes less engaging activity. In my personal experience, my own family and friends circle are able to spend quality time with their loved ones by choosing to shop at malls. As the personal life of people is improving, one can establish the the positive change this behavior is contributing to.
Secondly, the nation's economy is boosted when the taxes are paid on time and without failure. This becomes a reality when the shops are registered as per the government laws. As per the report issued by Ministry of Commerce, 60% of the local shops do not hold a valid license to continue their operations, but these businesses continue to operate that leads to generating black money. So, travelling to shopping centres in a way is helping in eradicating corrput practices that prevail in the society.
To conclude, the decision of customers to travel to shopping malls to make their purchases indicate that the country is on its way to become a developed nation. As a consequence, every citizen will eventually get benefited with social schemes that are likely to be introduced by the ruling authorities.
