Some people believe the aim of University education istohelp graduate get better jobs. Others believe there are much wider benefits of University education for both individuals and society. Discuss both views and give your opinion.
Thess days more and more people attend tertiary education. While it is argued by some individuals that the main purpose of attending University is to improve job prospects, others thinks that there are other broader benefits to the society and individuals. This essay will discuss both opinions extensively.
On the one hand,it is of no doubt that most companies would want to employ graduates.in other words, employers of this organization will prefer an employee who have gained knowledge in a particular field that will further improve the company productivity.As a result, graduate with tertiary degree are employed faster than those that did not University. For example, New Zealand,most University graduate get job offer immediately after graduation and this has led to 0.1percent drop in unemployment among graduate.Therefore having a university degree or experience helps to secure better job on the long run.
On the other hand, acquiring University certificate I both beneficial to the individuals as they become independent. This is the period they will the leave comfort of their home and family to stay in the hostel where they interact and socialize with friends from different background.Thus, they learn to confront challenging task by themselves thereby taking decisions. In addition,the society also benefit as most graduate would want to give back to the society by donating financially or support with their knowledge and experience in order to develop the community.
In Conclusion, although tertiary degree helps graduate to secure fantastic job,I agree that this can also be beneficial to both the individuals and society at large.
