Dear Mr. Alex,
I am writing to you this letter to request your permission to apply for 5 days time off work in order to take my IELTS exam next week. Let me explain my situation in more details, I have been studying for the IELTS exam for the past two months and the final week is vital to get an acceptable score, this could improve my efficiency in international communications with our company partners.
My exam is on May 5 and I can attend to work regularly from May 6. I already arranged with my department colleagues to manage my assignments and I will work on Saturdays for the next 5 weeks to cover my absence. Also, Susan is in contact with me through my email address in case of any difficulties, occurrence or a problem or calling me at any time of day.
I really appreciate your concern and I am looking forward to hearing from you regarding this aspect as soon as possible.
