I hope the letter reaches you in the best of health. I feel embarrassed writing to you to inform about failure on my part to abide by the promise made to you. Allow me to elaborate.
As you know, I have been long due for a promotion and due to some office politics I was not being promoted. However, I have recently received an email from my employer intimating me about the promotion. In addition, I have been told to undergo training in Copenhagen which shall commence from 22nd June, 2018. It happens to be falling on the date when you and I had decided to go and watch the newest addition to Marvel Series.
Further, I am sure you know that I hold you very close to my heart and would even go an extra mile to do things for you. However, due the events that have transpired have rendered me unable to commit for the date as well as the remaining week. I was very excited to see the movie with you.
Finally, I would not want you to waste the golden ticket, as we call it. Therefore, I hope that you will look for another partner to take with you.
