You have borrowed something from your friend, but it was damaged. Write a letter to your friend and say
- Apologize for damaging the product
- How was it damaged?
- What will you do about it?
Dear Matt,
Hope you are doing well. I am very contrite to inform you that the wrist watch I borrowed from you got damaged. It was an accident and I am ready to get it repaired from the service centre.
Firstly I am very sorry for this event and can’t find words to express how miserable I feel about it as I know that this watch was a special gift from your parents.
To elucidate the accident happened last night when I was coming back from the office on the motorbike. At one point of time when I was crossing the road an elderly women who was driving white sedan opened her door all of a sudden which struck my bike and I fell down damaging the watch. Although she apologized, however, the damage had already been done. Fortunately, the watch was running accurately apart from the broken protection glass and minor scratches on the lug.
Hence, I will take the watch to the Casio service centre tomorrow where they will fix it. I will bear all the expenses and hopefully, you will not be angry with me after it.
Best wishes
