You have read an article in an international travel magazine which contained some information about your town that is incorrect.

Write a letter to the editor of the magazine. In your letter
- Correct the information in the article
- Explain why it is important for the magazine to give correct information
- Suggest what the magazine should do about the situation

Dear Sir or Madam,
With reference to the Times travel magazine issued on 31st July 2019, I'd like to emphasis the false information given in one of the articles in the magazine. In particular, that article stated that the murder incident happened in Colombo 7, where I'm living. However, which is false information as there was no such incident reported in my town in the recent past. I believe that someone has given such false information to the editor of the magazine either by mistake or deliberately to spoil the repute of my town.
Therefore, I urge the editor of the magazine to make the corrective measures and actions to rectify news.
As this is one of the world-famous magazines all over the world, it is your responsibility to make sure the accuracy of the news that you publish. As millions of people around the world read this magazine and they may come to certain conclusions by referring to your magazine. Therefore, it is highly important to publish only accurate information with supporting evidence.
I’m not going to take any legal action against the magazine, though I can easily win, as this was the first time it happened. However, I urge you to correct the reported news in the next edition of the magazine with your apology. However, if you did not do so, I may have to look forward to taking the legal action.
