You recently received a letter from a friend asking for advice about whether to go to college or to try to get a job. You think he/she should get a job.
Write a letter to this friend.
In your letter:
say why he/she would not enjoy going to college
explain why getting a job is a good idea for him/her
suggest types of job that would be suitable for him/her

Dear Sam,

I hope you are doing well. I’ve received your letter about the dilemma you are facing with regards to pursuing higher education or getting on-board with a job. While going to college is definitely a great idea, I personally think you should consider starting your professional career.

Although college gives us good friends and cherishable memories, you would be overwhelmed with the amount of assignments that you are expected to complete within the stringent deadlines. Also, you are not someone who’d love to stick to the schedules and stay organized so I think you should rather work towards securing a job.

While professional experience sometimes make you vulnerable and miserable with the kind of expectations your supervisor sets for you, it definitely gives a peace of mind and help you stand on your own feet in the long run. Financial independence that you can achieve while working is incomparable to any other alternatives.

As you are tech savvy and someone who enjoys solving real-life challenges, I’d suggest you to opt for Data Scientist roles. Data Science is an emerging domain with tons of opportunities and I am sure that you are going to excel at this domain.

Wishing you good luck

Your friend
Shyam
