You successfully passed a job interview You are expected to start on November 15 but you will not be available on that date Task Write a letter to your new boss explaining your situation expressing your concern and suggesting a solution

Dear Sir,

I am writing this letter to you with regards to the joining letter I received today which states that my joining date is 15th November. But I will have to tell you woefully that it will not be possible for me due to an inevitable event that I must attend in my family.

Allow me to elaborate the situation for you, the issue is that my elder sister Tanya is getting married on the same day and being her only brother, it is my responsibility to be with her on that special occasion indeed, I will not miss it for the world.

Although, I do comprehend that it will be difficult to manage the work at office. Therefore, I have come up with a solution which will be convenient for the company as well as for me. I would suggest you to permit me to join on 1st November so that I can do most of the work in advance plus it will be feasible for me to get familiar with the type of work and I will be able to do the remaining assignments after coming back swiftly. I believe, this will resolve this matter.

I sincerely apologize for the trouble and would be grateful if you could accept my proposal.

Yours faithfully,
John
