You work for an international company, and would like to spend six months working in its head office in another country.
Write a letter to your manager. In your letter:
• explain why you want to work in the company’s head office for six months
• say how your work could be done while you are away
• ask for his/her help in arranging it,
Dear Mr. John,
I am writing to ask you to help me in making it possible to work in the head office of the company for a short period of time. I am looking forward to improving my résumé by working in there.
In order to accentuate my knowledge and international work experience, I am eager to do job in our head office situated in Canada. It would benefit me to learn how it works at the head office which manages its many office branches located in different countries.
As you know that the project on which I was working has been halted for six months due to few operational faults. Other minor level office responsibilities can be looked after and performed by Miss. Anita as she has showed her consent to do so for me. So I believe that during the time away from office, work related to me will be carried out by her effectively.
To accomplish my dream of working in the head office, I would need your help as well as support. If you recommend my name to the head office, I will be allowed NOC from HR department. Could you please give your recommendations?
I would be grateful to you if you could help me out in this matter. I look forward seeing your response as early as possible.
Yours faithfully,
Jack Marie.
