Your friend had made a plan for you to see a movie together but you cannot join him. Another friend of yours is willing to go.
Write a letter to your friend. In your letter:
-explain why you cannot go anymore
-say who can go instead of you
-say why this person is a good person to go with
Dear Vasu,
I hope you are doing well. I know that we have planned to see the Furious part 9 which is going to be released on coming Friday in the cinemas. However, I won’t be able to join on Friday because I’ll be traveling to India due to a family occasion. So, I am writing this letter to tell you that I am sorry for canceling the next meet-up plan.
I have to attend the marriage of my cousin, and my presence is necessary for this function since my mother can’t go alone in the marriage. I am sorry for not informing you earlier about the event.
Besides, I have to inform Lisa who is my other friend about my weekend plans as she had already made the bookings of two movie tickets in advance. If you feel comfortable with her to come along with you. Please let me know in advance so that I can drop a text on her WhatsApp that you'll be joining her on Friday evening instead of me.
You'll enjoy her company because she loves to play snooker at midnight club just like you after the movie. Plus, you guys have a similar taste in eating street food near the cinema where we usually go to have small meals. Once again, I feel sorry for not joining on Friday.
Looking forward to seeing you soon on my return.
Best regards,
Shwatank
