Your neighbours have recently written to you to complain about the noise from your house/ flat.
Write a letter to your neighbours. In your letter
• explain the reasons for the noise
• apologise
• describe what action you will take
Dear Samantha,
I received your letter yesterday and I felt very embarrassed to know that we became the reason of discomfort for your family. We had planned to do house renovation earlier this year but owing to financial limitations at that we couldn’t managed to do it. However, my husband received his yearly bonus this month & thought to start the renovation right away. This house was first built almost 12 years ago & it required some detailed renovations particularly kitchen & washrooms.
I am extremely sorry for the problem caused by noise to you. I totally understand your pain & I appreciate that you have raised a concern and express your emotions. If I would be at your place I would have complaint about it way earlier.
However, let me assure you that I am we won’t be reason of your discomfort any further. Renovation work has almost finished and only final touch ups are in process that does not require hammering that creates noise. Worker will leave the house in two days.
Once again I apologize for the problem caused. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Yours Truly,
Sam
