Overall, water used in agriculture is by far the most popular function in the world shown on the charts and water used homely is the lowest figure. Also, developed areas tend to use more water in industrial development.
Over 80% of water is consumed in farming in Africa, Central Asia, and Southeast Asia, almost 10% higher than the amount of South America. These figures are nearly two times as high as in North America and Europe. Such dramatic differences also are seen in industrial development in North America and Europe, at about 48% and 53% respectively, almost 38% - 50% higher than in other areas.
Water used in homely is the lowest figure in Europe, North America, Africa, approximately 15%, 19%, and 13%. Residential water usage is second-highest in Africa, Central Asia, and Southeast Asia, slightly 2-5% higher than using in industry.
