Essay topics:

When choosing a job, the salary is the most important consideration. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Deciding on what career to have is one of the most important decisions for each person. There is an opinion asserting that the salary is the most paramount factor in this respect. I, for one, entirely disagree with the given statement on the basis of some compelling reasons.
To begin with, choosing a job in the light of only the income is not the best action. First and foremost, one may end up being detestable towards detesting their career. Having a 9-to-5 job and having to be present at the workplace every single day, almost the majority of these employees hate what they are doing. All of them probably only have considered the amount of income when deciding to get hired. Second, should one tend to make money, they better take into account the future prospects of that job. In fact, in terms of salary, many job opportunities seem a logical choice at first, however, they are more of dead-end jobs, with no bright future. Thus, these jobs would be boring (mundane/tedious) with no room for improvement.
Admittedly, I understand that the salary can be a chief factor when choosing a job, however, there exist more important items here. Workers should feel that they are fulfilling a purpose and moving forward towards their goals. That being said, factors like putting effort in what you love, and being passionate about your career are of more importance. Many people’s feelings of job satisfaction also come from their professional achievements, the skills they learn, and the position they reach, rather than the money they earn. Finally, some people choose a career because they want to help others and contribute something positive to society.
In conclusion, while salaries certainly affect people’s choice of profession, I do not believe that money outweighs all other motivators.
