COMICS
The reading and the audio are both about comics medium and if they are from America or not. This includes newspaper comic strips and comic books.
On the one hand the reading says that the comics art comes from the USA so all the comics around the world are influenced by the Americans comics style. This is because the first comics than was successfully commercialized was Hogan’s Alley on 1890’s who lives in New York and has the usual American way of living at that time, it was written by an American cartoonist. Even more Superman created on 1930’s, the first popular action comic that is still being printed was created in America. And this American way of comics have influenced the the way of write comics all around the world. On Europe by Disneys Comics which are the most popular in that continent and on the Japonese way of comics called manga.
Secondly, the audio told us that there were other comics older than Hogan’s Alley created in the United Kingdom and Switzerland on 1790’s. Even more, Hogan’s Alley told the story of an inmigrant living in New York. Also Eventhough Superman, which was created by a Canadian cartoonist that lives in the USA, is very popular around the world, in Belguim was created Tintin which is very popular around the world and it was created on 1922. So the comics have influenced not only from the USA, it also has influences from different parts of the world.
In conclusion the reading and the audio have different points of view but all of them try to argue where the influences of the comics comes from.
