The popular 5-day workweek has long been a staple in U.S. business. With employees working 8 hours a day for a total of 40 hours a week, it has been seen as a model of efficiency. However, some companies and government agencies have begun converting to a

Both lecture and article discuss about effect of reducing workweek to 4 days from 5 days.
Lecture challenges the benefit mentioned in the article about reducing one working day and increasing working hours by 2
for remaining days.

First off, lecture argues point mentioned in article about reducing one work day would benefit employee and business.
He says that employee will save $15 per day on gas and in all employee would save $850 per year but this come at the cost of
no business for one day. Which he thinks is not justifying reason.

Secondly, lecture also refute article statement about reducing one work day would reduce business cost. He thinks that adding 2 hours each day
is not equal to one working day effort. Since most of the time, extra 2 hours will be added during evening time and consumers are
gone by that time, which brings no business. Ultimately this will reduce business by 20%.

Finally, lecture contradict the point made in article about reducing work days will help employee to give time
for family. Lecture points out that, employee had to find daycare for young kids which operate 10 hours a day, this itself is very exhausting job. Moreover, if employee have older kids anyway they will spend half of day in school and will only get remaining half with parent.

With all points made in lecture, he disagrees with idea about reducing one work day will benefit both employee and business.
