First of all, the author states, modren reptiles are cold- blooded. Ancient reptile also cold -blooded. Moreover, cold -blooded animals have low metabolism, therefore, they do not have enouph energy to fly. This statement is challenged by professor. She elaborates on thich like hair which cover skin of Pterosaurs, this cover keep these reptile warm and made enable them to have energy to use their wing to fly like warm-blooded animals.
Furthermore, the passage asserts, heavy body wieght of ancient reptile prevent them from flap their wings fast and fly. The speaker refutes this argument. She mentions, these type of reptiles had specific skeloton feature that help them to fly. She says, bones of ptersaurs are hallow. Therefore, they had light weight that enable them fly.
Ultimately, the author contends, pterosaurs can not able to jump and take of ground, because their back legs muscles were very weak. The lecturer in the other hand claims, birds only rely on two legs to run and take off the ground. But, ancient reptiles had four legs which enable them to jump and fly.
