Summarize the points made in the lecture, being sure to explain how they cast doubt on the specific points made in the reading passage.

Both the reading and the listening are talking about a gold mask which archaeologist Heinrich Schliemann found in a 3500-year-old Greeek tomb. But they contradict each other. The reading believes the mask is a fake while the listening casts doubt on the idea of the reading.

First, about the Schliemann's dishonerst behavior on other occasions. The lecturer claims that the Greek government noticed the Schliemann's behavior before, so they watched this exploration closely to surpervision the whole time. And Schliemann didn't have enough space or time to cheat. The government wanted to make sure the mask is not a fake too. This conflicts the first reading idea.

Second, the professor points out that the mask is another art style at that acient age. This style is similar with the old period king mask. For example, the mask have perfect detail about the lips and the beard. This challenges the reading point that the mask beard doesn't resemble the facial hair represented on any of the other gold masks.

Finally, the listening asserts that Schliemann stop from exploring the site was reasonable at that age. In the past, most of the archaeologists were treasure hunters who cannot understand the culture of the treasure. They always found the valueable treasure everywhere, however they stopped exploring quickly when they realized worthless of the site. This opposes the reading third idea that the Schliemann abrupt closing of the site because of he knew the mask was a fake.
