Both reading and lecture are taking about the debate of dinosaurs were endotherms or not.
First, the reading states that there is a common features between endotherms and dinosaurs like, dinosaurs have legs underneath their body, and this position help dinosaurs to run as endotherms. However, the professor refutes this idea by saying the is not nessessary to explain that dinosaurs were endotherms. He mentions that these legs to support the heavy waight. dinosaurs have large size.
Second, the reading introduces that dinosaurs were endotherms becuase there were found at polar regions. Nevertheless. the professor questions this point by saying even dinosaurs have been founded in polar region, this not indication that they are enotherms, because not endotherms live in cold area . He mentions that even if dinosaurs migrates to warmer area this does not prove that dinosaurs were endotherms.
Third, the reading mentions that the endothems generally have haversian canals in their bone, as a result dinosaurs were endothers becuse dinosaurs also have haversian canals in their bones. On the other hand, the professor avers this idea by saying, even dinosaurs have haversian in their bone this does not confirm that theye are dinosaurs. They have growth ring which is founded in their bones. This rings indicates rapid or slow growth. according to envioroment, the growth will be slow in cold then rapidly according to the enviromental cold.
Therefor, the professor opposes the ideas introduced in the reading.
