The passage and the lecture discuss the impact of nature disasters such as fire and storme on nature and how the salvage logging can be the adequate solution on both environmental and economical field.
First of all, the author states that the salvage logging cleans the soil, make a good place for the new roots to grow ups thus, helps the trees to recover in other hand the lecturer rebuts this facts by saying that salvage logging is in contrast making the soil more vulnerable by taking off his fertilizer elements.
Secondly, the author claims that salvage logging has other advantage wich is minimizing the number of the insects that bad for trees health, in other way the lecturer casts doubts by saying that the tree is the habitat for other creatures as birdies and other beneficial insects.
Thirdly, the passage states that the salvage logging creates a good opportunities for local population to find a jobs , while the lecturer says that those opportunities are just temporary and concern just people who have experience .
