TPO-48 - Integrated Writing Task In recent years, many frog species around the world have declined in numbers or even gone extinct due to changes in their environment. These population declines and extinctions have serious consequences for the ecosystems

Essay topics

The reading provides three solutions to solve a problem, which is the recently reduction in frogs' population and explains each of them. On the other hand, the professor says that non of them is practical solution and refutes each author's notions.

Initially, the reading comes with the first solution that is put some laws in order to prevent farmers from utilizing pesticide in their farm lands, which is one of the causes of the reduction of frogs' population. This chemical material have been used to secure farm lands from insects. On the contrary, the professor claims that this solution is not fair to farmers that are close to frogs habitants, because if they follow this laws, they would lose in competetive markets and produce less amounts of the crops each year.

Furthermore, the reading states that fungus is another noticeable cause of the reducing population of frogs, because thickening of the skin is its consequences and scientists could treat or prevent infection that kill the fungus with heat. In contrast, the professor accounts this notion by saying that scientist must produce indivitual treatment for each frogs, because no single treatment could solve this problem for all of the frogs together. Also, scientist must update the treatments for each generation.

Last but not the least, the reading reminds us that human spread so quickly in nearby lakes, which are the suitable habitats for frogs in order to lay leggs and if we protect the lakes we could contribute to reduction of the frogs' population. However, the professor says that lakes is not a essential problem. In fact, the real problem is global warming that causes extinction of lots of frogs species.
