The passage states that the frog population is in danger of severe declination and it leads to some harmful effects for human such as increasing disease-carrying insects which frogs eat them. The article proposes some strategies to save frog population but the lecturer claims that these methods are not useful and refutes each of them.

First, the article avers that by restricting the usage of pesticides in corn and sugarcane farms, the harmful effects of these chemical compounds will be eliminated and frogs will be saved. The professor does not confirm this explanation by saying that farmers rely on these pesticides and not using of these substances leads to severe crop loss and a great cost impact for them. thus, it is not fair in comparison to farmers of other regions.

Second, the passage states that the main reason of declination in frog population is fungas infection so frogs will be saved by medical treatment. The lecturer refutes this remedy as well. she says that this treatment is not practical because each frog should be captured and treated individually. Furthermore, the medication is not communicable and next generations must be cured separately.

Third, the passage claims that limiting the excessive water use of lakes and wetland will conserve the natural habitat of frogs thus they population will be increased again. The professor avers that declination in water level of lakes and wetlands have an other important reason. she adds that global warming is the major reason and limiting the water usage by human activities will not be influential.
