The reading text and lecture are both about the large plain of Jar found by the archeologist near by the Southeastern Asia country Laos. While, the author present some theories about the real purpose of these jars, the lecturer disputes all this theories and claim that real purpose of these jars are still mystery for the scientists.

Fist of all, reading suggests that, ancient peoples were used this jar for the fermentation process. It is also states that, these jar were constructed by the king to prepare the drink at time celebration of the victory. However, the lecturer refutes this claim and argue that, the original fermentation vessels are made out of the clay, But, these jar is made up of the stone. It is very expansive and time consuming top make stone jar for fermentation. Additionally, He said that, if there is east way was available for the construction of the clay vessels, then why the they choose that tough way of fermentation.

Secondly, reading text claim that, major purpose of these jars were the water storage. Travelers were use this water during their migration for making trade. In contrast to that, professor points out that, trade route on which those traveler were travelled was near by the river. So, they did not require any additional source of water during their travelling hours.

In last, writer believes that, Jars are originally used for as the tomb, to stored the human remaining like some precious artifacts. On the other hand, tutor is opposes this claim and goes on to say that, if those jars was used as a storage purpose of the some valuables like beads, golden artifacts, then it must have the lead to cover the jar. Although, the archeologists who are working on that site has not found anu kind of cover, not even in the nearby area.
