Dear Mr. Smith,
I am writing to inform regarding the delay on the start date. I am suppose to start on June 13, 2015. However, some urgent family matters needs my presence and I must go home immediately to sort things out.
Our family is currently facing issues from the unexpected calamity happened over the weekend. A volcano erupted and it covers most part of our village. Fortunately, the whole family went out-of-town when the tragedy occurred. Yet, we felt sadness when we saw the aftermath. The rice fields were covered in ashes and there is nothing left to save. Communities are assisting one another as we all need to over come this unfortunate event. The town council and officials are closely monitoring the province and providing the basic needs.
I would like to request to move my start date on June 20th, Monday. By this time, I know that I am focused knowing that my family is out of danger. Just in case the new project could not wait for my long absence, I can definitely work from home as I understand that we need to meet our client's needs. My mobile line is always open for any inquiries.
