To get a high mark on reading, tips are important, but we can't depend on them. The most important thing is reading more and practising more. and also try to know more vocabulary words.

what I did:
step one: read the entire passage, but very quickly, like scan. so I can have a big picture for the passage.
step two: read the question carefully and find out key words in the question
step three: from the key words and question, go back to passage again and try to reach the answer.
