children nutrition
The lack of adequate nutrition supplies not only causing the disruption of children's growth and development but also increasing the risk of children’s morbidity and mortality. In 2016, the number of children under five in Slarang Village are 1056 toddlers and 63 (5.96%) of them suffer from malnutrition. One of the solutions is improving the role of health worker. But with the number of 11 posyandu and 55 health workers, the promotive roles of 55 health workers in 11 posyandu at salarang village are less.The observation conducted at 4 posyandu showed that health workers only responsible for recording and weighing. Based on the interview, the health workers have lacked in knowledge of children nutrition and skill of counseling, they also haven’t health workers manual book. Community service activates have been implemented and the health worker manual book has been completed. The number of participants was 19 health workers, the knowledge about children's nutrition had increased from 61,8 to 93,7 and health worker’s skill of children nutrition counseling had been monitored by visited 6 posyandu where 11 health workers counseling exam results are more than 70.
