Nowadays food has become easier to prepare. Has this change improved the way people live? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
Indeed food has become easier to prepare nowadays than before because of which the way people live has changed significantly. You need chopped onions but have no time to chop them go to the store and you get freshly packaged chopped onions. You have no time to prepare dinner because your tried day at work just order KFC or go to the store to get freshly prepared food of your choice.
Take a decade ago and one will realize that cooking was a job that required a lot of patience and time. If one had to prepare a cheesecake they had to prepare whipped cream for the cake, the base and place it in the oven for a long time. But now we have the option of not only buying it from the bakery but can prepare the cake easily using ready-made mixtures available in grocery stores. People prefer paying extra and save time rather than waste their time in preparing food. Thanks to this people have more time for other things such as work, leisure or family time.
Although cooking has been made easier and faster for all it has its own drawbacks. The major shortfall being the amount of preservatives added to the packaged food to increase its shelf life. These preservatives are harmful for us in the long run. It also lacks the nutrition that freshly prepared food has. There have been increased cases of allergies because of such packaged food. Besides this it has also made people lazy. Nobody wants to wake up early in the weekends and go to the kitchen to prepare food. Rather they would call in from some restaurant or heat some packaged food in the microwave and have that.
A variety of packaged ready to eat food has definitely made cooking easy for everyone. It makes our lives easier but not healthier. Also it reflects how much stress of work people have in their lives because of which they cut off time for other things. For a person’s life to improve not only is making things easier essential but also a healthy life. In all it may have not improved the way people live so much.
